Brasserie SLO
Located in downtown San Luis Obispo, Brasserie SLO was designed as part of the retrofit of a larger historical masonry building — originally a hardware and agricultural machinery supply dating from the late 19th century and later a brew pub.
The goal was to incorporate the new structural steel columns and beams and the heavy industrial feeling of the original space, into a updated restaurant with all the warmth and charm of a traditional French brasserie.
The decor, space plan and bar areas play on traditional French brasserie themes, while the open gaucho-style grille, the wood oven and wenge-paneled bar and casework, speak to to a more contemporary farm-to-table vibe. The facilities also include a glassed-in distillery room for for crafting and aging spirits on-site as well as an elegant wine storage enclosure. Patios seating fronts the city sidewalk.
