Costa Brava
With ocean views in the distance and a casual coastal vibe, this residence underwent a serious transformation — changing out all the finishes, cabinetry, appliances, fixtures and furnishings. In order to preserve the beachy character of the neighborhood while upgrading the floor to match the level of all the elegant new appointments, this rustic but luxurious board was developed in the Netherlands for interior designer Jan Kepler in conjunction with KHLA Hardwood.
Extensive wire brushing, cerusing and oil-based stains that react with the natural sugars and tannins in the wood give the material an aged, variegated appearance, but one that is coupled with an unparalleled richness of texture that feels great underfoot.
