PARK 1039
Inspired by European gastronomie and the great regional wines, meats, cheeses and other artisanal delicacies traditionally produced in Europe but also increasingly in California, Park 1039 is a gourmet market, wine shop and restaurant located in downtown SLO.
The owner’s desire to create a clean, naturalistic backdrop for his specialty food and wine parings, without using the typical rustic California wine country vernacular, lead us to look to a more precise use of space, typical of Japanese or Scandinavian design, but integrating regional influences.
The space plan, kitchen and service area layouts as well as the material specifications and cabinetry design all endeavor to crisply dress every inch of interior space while using it to maximum effect and efficiency, while still maintaining an overall sense of spaciousness and quiet minimalism.
