SPA CERRO
The design brief for Spa Cerro was for a full service facility that would support an extensive program of treatments and experiences for guests, but within a compact urban footprint.
Our challenge was to create a space that would not only function smoothly and efficiently but also serve to help “transport” guests in a journey toward relaxation and wellness. The space would also need to underscore the land and sea inspired treatments.
The facility includes a reception and retail area, both wet and dry treatment rooms with custom foot-baths, women’s and men’s changing areas and steam rooms, and a rooftop relaxation deck. At the center of Spa Cerro is the Quiet Room, inspired by the vast kelp forests off the central California coast. Here, the soft blue-green light and soothing sounds provided by four large large bubble wall panels serve to envelope the senses with a soothing energy.
