Drums are one of the most time consuming and difficult objects to make. They are a necessity of ceremonies and feasting. This drum has hornbills on the handle which are headhunting symbols. On the drum body are snake tracks and possible a crocodile vagina for fertility. Made by Sabastinus Biman from the village of Pirien. Made of one piece of wood, monitor lizard skin and rattan.
