Artist’s Statement: “The Flutter series is designed to evoke the texture of ocean water. The pieces in this series attempt to capture the ever-changing light, transparency and movement of the ocean’s surface, using individual pieces of mulberry paper painted with watercolor and then coated in wax. Using the interplay of line, texture, translucency and color, I’m seeking to balance simplicity of expression with rich sensory qualities.”
