Artist’s Statement: “The mood and texture of space, light and organic from has formed and important part of my work. Inspired by the ephemeral and the anecdotal, these series represent an exploration of luminosity through the use of paper washed in India Ink and Watercolor. Waves of paper are built up of create a shimmering and ambiguous surface that evokes the play of light and dark on water and landscape. This particular work was influenced by the play of light in the skies above San Francisco obscured by fog and smoke during the summer wildfires.”
